The ideal candidate would be a perfectionist at heart who is highly detail oriented, observant and aware. The position is suitable for a candidate who derives satisfaction from following and ensuring compliance to standards. Self-initiative and resourcefulness are important as the position requires a fair level of independence and ability to perform light housekeeping tasks and coordinate with other departments. Good communications skills are essential, as well as the ability to be diplomatic and adaptable, working with a diverse and committed staff. As this position also includes guest contact, a well groomed appearance and manner is necessary. Although previous experience experience in a housekeeping capacity is helpful, it is not a requirement. The position requires scheduling flexibility including working weekends.
