Dental Assistant - Part Time

We are a family dental office in South Boston and we are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of dental assisting, including chairside assisting, patient care, and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.

Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.

Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.

Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.

Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including handling patient inquiries.

Utilize EMR systems such as OpenDental for patient management and record keeping.

Perform vital signs checks and assist with medical imaging when required.

Support pediatric dentistry efforts by providing compassionate care to younger patients.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry, prosthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.

Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, aseptic technique, infection control practices, and HIPAA regulations is essential.

Proficiency in using dental software such as Epic or Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation.

Experience with 3D scanners and other advanced dental technology is a plus.

Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
