Dermatology private practice located in Brighton, MA is seeking a health services liaison. The role of this individual is vital to the operations and success of the Medical Practice and the welfare of the patients.

Job Description
Interaction with physicians, dentists, nurses, pharmacists, social services and insurance companies.
Welcome patients upon arrival.
Make certain patients are comfortable in examining rooms.
Ensure patients have appointments for follow-up.
Address concerns of the patients, pharmacies, referring doctors’ offices, and other healthcare providers, and communicate with them.
Coordinate patient’s treatments, specifically IV infusions with a home infusion company.
Communicate with home infusion company for regular set up and to renew orders frequently.
Communicate and coordinate availability of medications and nursing services for patients as needed.
Type letters to patients, PCP’s and referring physicians.
While accepting new patients, obtain complete information on diagnosis, previous treatments, laboratory tests and physician notes and most importantly insurance information.
Examine and organize patient charts making sure it includes patients’ lab results, consult notes, and other documents.
Help with the fax, scan and email documents when needed.
Ensuring appropriate health insurance coverage of patients.
Facilitating prior authorization for medications and laboratory procedures. Including letters of medical necessity to insurance providers.
Coordinating and facilitating communication with all the office staff to ensure everyone is on the same page.
Coordinating needs of the office with the landlord for patient care facilities.
Responsibility for supplies in the office and ordering as needed.
Individual must be a team player who is good at multi-tasking and prioritizing.
The job is not a high pressure or stressful one but requires an individual can manage several challenges in the same day.
Qualifications
Most important skills required are- clear & complete communication, responsibility, thoroughness, follow-through, pleasant, personable, patience, organizational skills, and motivated.
Capable of communicating in English in a clear and lucid manner in the spoken and written form.
Experience in a doctor’s office, hospital or healthcare facility for three years. Will consider individuals who may not have worked in healthcare, but have experience working in an office setting.
Will consider exceptional candidates, who worked while in college, and recently graduated.
Good computer literacy and excellent typing skills.
Ability to handle and effectively deal with the needs and concerns of the patients.
Detail oriented person capable of multi-tasking
Easy to get along and team player
Would prefer a College Bachelor’s degree, but not essential.
Punctual and reliable
Full time position: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm
Negotiable starting $40,000-45,000 annually. Increases based on performance.
