Live In home health aide/personal care attendant needed for elder adult male with PD movement disorder. He is cognitively sharp, with only slight memory loss, enjoys TV, books, walks, light exercise, going on outings, and companionship. He is able to walk alone, occasionally needing help in transitions. Assistance is needed with all aspects of daily living, such as: bathing, toileting, medication assistance, transferring in and out of bed, dressing, making meals, transportation to appointments, shopping for groceries, light household chores, and laundry.
As this is a live-in position, applicant is provided shared common space including kitchen, dining area, TV area, laundry use, outdoor patio use, parking, exercise area, a shared bathroom, and a bedroom. Possibility of splitting the job with a second caregiver so someone else would be familiar with the routine to ensure continuity of care for the patient. Specifics would be negotiable to accommodate both client and applicant by mutual consent.
Requirements for application include: minimum 2 years home health caregiving experience (preference with PD patients), Certification (PCA or HHA), fluency in both written and spoken English, valid driver's license with excellent record, be an American citizen or have permission to work in US, have Social Security number, provide at least three references, and be vaccinated against Corona virus, is reliable, honest, and hardworking. Must get along with patient, extended family members, and others. Prefer have your own transportation. Background check required. Smoking is not allowed.
