Opportunity Overview
North Shore Community Health (NSCH) is seeking a dedicated Patient Services Representative (Front Desk) to join our team. In this busy office environment, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring they are registered, scheduled, and charged correctly for their medical visits to facilitate smooth clinic operations.

Responsibilities
Provide outstanding customer service to patients and clinical staff.
Maintain professionalism and a friendly demeanor, especially with stressed patients.
Ensure accurate patient registration, scheduling, and check-in for appointments.
Direct calls and notes to appropriate staff, taking detailed messages.
Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information during visits.
Collect necessary documents related to patient care, including consent forms.
Handle patient payments when required and reconcile payments at the end of shifts.
Maintain organized and clean work areas and waiting rooms.
Provide translation services as needed.
Contact patients via letter, phone, or patient portal when necessary.
Uphold HIPAA regulations by ensuring confidentiality and integrity of medical records.
Perform copying and faxing of documents as needed.
Support the patient care team with other assigned duties.
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience.
Proven reliability, good attendance, and a positive attitude.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability and willingness to learn new technologies (e.g., Digium/Switchvox phone system, EPIC, Dentrix).
Warm and professional telephone manner, with patience and good memory.
Strong multitasking abilities and follow-up skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Competency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with EPIC is a plus.
Adherence to the NSCH Confidentiality policy and personnel policies.
Flexibility regarding work assignments.
COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
As a health center, NSCH requires all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19, unless a religious or medical exemption has been granted. Proof of vaccination must be submitted before your first day of employment.
