Seeking a live-in PCA to be on call as needed, about 3 times per week at most. This means those who would be able to get up anytime at night to come downstairs for a few minutes for minor tasks – fixing a pillow, straightening out a leg, turning off a light etc. Monthly rent $700-800 depending on utilities' costs (heat and hot water). On call needs are paid according to time of night,
$10 (before 10 PM)
$20 (10-12 PM)
$30 after midnight)
In addition, there are evening shifts from 5-8 that a PCA
could work to bring in extra income.
Monday-through- Friday, 3 hours each evening anytime between 4:30 PM and 9 PM. Employment rate $20.00/hr
I am a quadriplegic who uses a power wheelchair, so I need help getting into bed – we use a Hoyer lift, which we can teach you how to operate. At that time, we also do range of motion exercises.
My basic evening routine is feeding me supper– and minor kitchen cleanup afterwards.
Sometimes laundry. I have begun to use oxygen and a nebulizer on occasion. This is an excellent job for those who want experience with nursing skills! I used to be a teacher and I love people.
For myself, I am seeking kind and capable personal care assistants to help me keep living a meaningful, independent, and productive life. I live in a very friendly neighborhood and keep in touch with close friends and family.
Please contact me SOON if you have questions or concerns. Please tell me a little bit about what you have been doing for work and what draws you to this type of work. Look forward to talking with you! References required.
Transportation – Buses run from Forest Hills to Roslindale Village, which is about a
10 minute walk to my house. There is also a 51 bus that runs between Forest Hills and Cleveland Circle. It stops at the end of my street, and then a very short walk down the
street to my house. We are a five-minute walk To the commuter rail stop between Needham and downtown Boston commuter rail. That stop is a 5 minute walk from my house.
