Ideal job for resident of South Boston or northeast Dorchester or UMass due to location near Savin Hill Station (on Jones Hill). Pay is $20 per hour. 3 hours per day, usually it is every other day, both on weekends and during weekdays. Flexible hours between 10am and 3pm for cleaning duties; gardening and other special projects can be done anytime during daylight hours. We can work around a student's class schedule within reason, so if you are a UMass student, this could work well for you.
Bed and Breakfast near Savin Hill station needs assistant innkeeper. Duties include basic housekeepingeg vaccuum, mop, make beds, clean kitchens and bathrooms, do laundry, sweep porches, wipe down or dust furniture, keep up supplies of clean laundry, cleaning materials, coffee for guests; clean the microwave ovens and refrigerators; do other seasonal housekeeping tasks when asked such as washing windows (they all fold into the house so no ladders needed), weeding and mowing the lawn and garden, and putting away one season's supplies (such as fans, light blankets) and taking out the new season's supplies (eg space heaters, comforters, lamps) from storage; some filing and clerical work as well. You will be working directly with the owner of the Bed and Breakfast, and duties need to be done to that person's specifications. We will train.
We are very near the Edward Everett School, so if you have children there or you live on Jones Hill or Savin Hill or Umass, this could be a very convenient job for you. We are less than half a mile from the Savin Hill subway station.
The pay is hourly because the duties and number of hours vary according to how many guests we have had that week and what season it is, but it is at least 9 hours per week.
The job is very physically active and you will also need to be able to manage stairs easily. You will also need to respect the privacy of people who are living or staying at the house.
