Job Posting: Part-Time Weekend Custodian (Jewish Temple, Lexington)
A Jewish Temple in Lexington is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Weekend Custodian to join our team part-time, working Saturdays and Sundays. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision, while supporting our temple’s events and religious services.
Primary Responsibilities:
Set up and break down tables, chairs, and A/V equipment for religious services, community events, and Hebrew school sessions.
Prepare and maintain worship spaces for Shabbat and other services, ensuring cleanliness and proper arrangement.
Perform general custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing restrooms and common areas.
Assist with room turnovers between events and activities, ensuring spaces are clean and welcoming.
Perform light maintenance work, such as replacing light bulbs and addressing minor repairs.
Collaborate with staff and clergy to meet event and facility needs.
Ensure the building is secure at the end of the day.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of custodial experience.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
Strong customer service skills and ability to work well with staff, congregants, and visitors.
Reliable transportation required.
Must pass a CORI background check.
Compensation:
$23-25 per hour, based on experience.
