Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain:
- Heavy construction equipment (loaders, skid steers, sweepers, etc.)
- Small landscaping equipment (mowers, blowers, trimmers, etc.)
- Company vehicles (trucks, trailers, etc.)
- Prioritize repairs and manage workload based on operational urgency and safety.
- Order parts and manage inventory to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and equipment history.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide occasional guidance to operators on proper equipment use and maintenance.
- Proactively identify potential issues and recommend solutions to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a mechanic (fleet, heavy equipment, or automotive).
Strong diagnostic skills across gas, diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Must provide own professional-grade tools.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Proficient in ordering parts and managing vendor relationships.
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills
Welding and fabrication experience.
Knowledge of snow and ice control equipment.
Familiarity with fleet management software (a plus, but not required).
