Wells and Company Builders is growing and needs a Lead Carpenter to join the team.
We are a thriving and professional remodeling contracting company located in Wenham, MA. We focus on residential renovations, additions and remodels. We are growing on the North Shore with an established client base in the greater Boston area.
The Lead Carpenter will oversee the day to day onsite production and help lead our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry and construction, demonstrating leadership abilities while overseeing projects from start to finish. This role requires a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality craftsmanship in various construction tasks.
Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise carpentry projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and specifications.
Acting as on-site client liaison.
Train and mentor junior carpenters and apprentices in best practices and techniques.
Collaborate on the build process with project manager.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Skills:
Proficiency in various carpentry techniques.
Strong understanding of construction estimating processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
Attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality workmanship.
Must Haves:
English proficiency, great communication skills, reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. More importantly, a desire to learn and grow.
CSL preferred, or willingness to obtain and bonus if you have knowledge of sustainable and/or advanced building techniques.
