Building Maintenance Professional

Employment Type: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week)

A dynamic and fast growing commercial real estate investment, development and property management firm in Natick, Massachusetts is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of an assigned portfolio of facilities to ensure a safe and functional environment.

Duties:

- Perform the repair, maintenance, restoration, and replacement of various components of the physical structure of the buildings

- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry work, and HVAC system maintenance

- Inspect buildings to identify maintenance issues and create plans for repairs

- Maintain and repair locks, locking mechanisms, closers, doors, furniture and controllers.

- Maintain and repair plumbing components including toilets, urinals, lavatories, flush valves, sinks, drains, water heaters, piping, and sump pumps

- General interior maintenance – hang pictures, install keyboard trays, repair office furniture systems

- Repair equipment and machinery as needed

- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff

- Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.

- Supervise and coordinate with external contractors when necessary

- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tracking work orders and inventory

- Maintain electrical systems including wiring, lighting, and fixtures

Qualifications:

- 3-5 years of relevant experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic working knowledge of MEP systems and life safety systems

- Prior experience as a carpenter or painter and working knowledge of basic carpentry and painting techniques

- Proficient with basic hand tools and able to perform a variety of handy-man functions

- Leadership skills for supervising subcontractors

- Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written

- Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing skills are a plus, but not a requirement.

Requirements:

- Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken

- Must be willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations
