Job Title: Shop Technician
Job Description: Responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks on equipment and machinery. Contribute to the overall cleanliness of the fabrication lab by sweeping, cleaning machinery and arranging scrap materials.
Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on machinery, tools to ensure they function correctly and safely.
2. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and identify issues with equipment or machinery, using various diagnostic tools and techniques.
3. Scheduled Maintenance: Follow maintenance schedules and protocols to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of equipment.
4. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, hours worked, and issues addressed.
5. Safety Compliance: Ensure that all equipment and machinery meet safety standards and regulations, and report any safety concerns or violations.
6. Inventory Management: Keep track of spare parts and supplies, order replacements when necessary, and maintain an organized inventory.
7. Quality Control: Ensure that all repairs and maintenance work meets quality standards and specifications.
Qualifications:
1. Education: high school diploma or equivalent is required.
2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized machinery. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
3. Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and fix equipment issues.
4. Safety Awareness: Understanding of safety protocols and regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
5. Attention to Detail: Precise attention to detail to identify and rectify even minor issues.
6. Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
7. Physical Stamina: The ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects.
