We specialize offering expert tree care solutions and lawn care to our clients. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to execute repair and maintenance of our vehicle fleet and mechanics to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
Position Summary/Responsibilities:
As the Fleet Maintenance Mechanic, the focus will be to ensure all equipment and vehicles are ready and working as needed through proper completion of repairs and maintenance. This will be accomplished by communicating and coordinating major repairs and maintenance with Managers, as well as listening to specialists and reading Vehicle Inspection Reports and prioritizing work flow. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for ordering and receiving parts and supplies, as well as proper completion of paperwork for the office and vendors. Within this role you’ll train field specialists on equipment maintenance and vehicle operations while maintaining a clean, safe and orderly work environment in the Shop and the Yard.
Qualifications:
Must be authorized to lawfully work in the U.S
ASE certification a plus, but not required
Valid Driver’s license required, CDL preferred
A desire for job stability, security and quality work. Our fleet will always have the need to be maintained by mechanics who desire and take pride in caring for their own fleet and equipment
Small engine repair experience
Two-stroke engine repair knowledge
Diesel engine repair and maintenance experience
Experience operating and maintaining aerial lifts (bucket) trucks but not required
Experience with spray equipment, tanks and pumps
Your own basic tools for engine repair and maintenance
Ability to read and comprehend instruction manuals and diagnostic charts for purpose of learning and troubleshooting and analyze repair of a mechanical or electrical nature
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Occasionally lift and/or move over fifty (50) pounds while performing the core functions of the position
Education:
Required: High School diploma / vocational training / GED
Associate's degree preferred not necessary
Professional Certification – dependent on years of experience
Class A or B CDL license (preferred)
Hoisting License preferred (1b – crane operator, 2a/1c – excavators, bobcats (small equipment)
1c – forklifts, anything without wire cables
