RESERVATIONIST/DISPATCHER
Hours: Full Time; Monday-Friday 6AM-2PM
Pay: $20-22/hr depending on experience
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Reservationist is one of the initial contacts for the organization's riders. The Reservationist answers incoming telephone calls, handles demand-responsive and subscription trip requests, and makes referrals as appropriate. The Reservationist also performs data entry tasks and other clerical duties as directed. The Reservationist interacts with staff and riders. The Reservationist also answers Dispatch calls and helps with Dispatch Tasks as needed. The Reservationist opens the office in the mornings and must be very reliable and provides support to other staff. The Reservationist also liaises with partner agencies and other professionals.
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
FUNCTIONS:
1. Makes ride reservations for demand-responsive trips, subscription trips, and return trips, using appropriate procedures and forms.
2. Answers information requests, makes referrals, and initiates other client matters as directed.
3. Assists the Director of Operations in maintaining accurate records of all fixed route, group run, subscription trip, demand-responsive trip, and special trip activity.
4. Assists the Director of Operations with clerical duties.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
6. Helps with Dispatch calls and Dispatch tasks as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills required, particularly with senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
2. One years' experience as a reservationist or receptionist preferred; experience in a social service or elder service organization preferred.
3. Ability to organize concurrent tasks, attend to details, and manage frequent interruptions required.
4. Good computer skills required including use of Google Docs, Sheets and Maps, Microsoft Word and Excel
5. Prior data entry experience required, familiarity with paratransit software preferred
6. Familiarity with the Greater Boston road network required.
7. High school degree preferred.
8. Ability to operate a telephone required.
