:Summary Creates and maintains a community atmosphere and fosters a standard of excellence in the quality of life for all residents by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Initiates and directs social service programs such as the monthly calendar, educational, and health and recreational programs. 2. Supports and facilitates resident council or planning board to promote resident group consensus and involvement. 3. Develops rapport with local social service agencies and other groups serving the elderly through personal contact and attendance at consortiums. 4. Maintains a comprehensive information and referral system to assist residents in securing necessary community services. 5. Addresses elderly resident issue at multiple sites. 6. Communicates to the Director of Resident Services or Central Office necessary information and reports as well as site situations outside of “normal operations” which may require advisement. 7. Keeps the Director of Resident Services abreast of involvement with the local community. 8. Provides leadership and encouragement for resident participation. 9. Complies with all company issued policies and procedures. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) from four-year college or university; and four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word.
