Farmstand Crew needed!
Hutchins Farm is seeking motivated, outgoing individuals to work in our busy Farm Stand and Farmers’ Market stalls. Work involves washing and preparing produce for sale, building displays, creating signage, ringing up customers and keeping our sales area clean and welcoming. Friendly, helpful demeanor is a must; interest in local, organic food and retail experience are desirable.
Applicants should be able to lift 50+ lbs, and be able to stand for long periods of time. Our farmstand is open now through the first weekend in November. Applicants should be willing to commit to working at least one weekend day, preferably both. Full-time preferred, part-time possible–exact hours will depend on specific job description. Farm stand workdays begin at 9am or 10am depending on the shift and end around 3:30pm or 6:30pm depending on the shift, with an unpaid hour for lunch. Farmers’ Market hours vary by the day.
Hutchins Farm is one of the oldest and largest certified organic vegetable, fruit, and cut flower operations in Massachusetts. Organic since 1973, Hutchins grows over 40 acres of vegetables, about an acre of small fruit, half an acre of cut flowers, and 4 acres of apples. We sell our produce directly to consumers at our farm stand in Concord, MA, and at three weekly farmers’ markets, with a small amount of sales to local restaurants.
