Felipe’s Taqueria is an exciting high volume restaurant/bar located in the center of Harvard square with a rooftop bar area that holds over 250 people - We are in search of security personnel to help managing the safety and flow of business for our guests.
The Security Staff position helps to handle capacity control, alcohol controls, maintain safety, check IDs, monitor suspicious activity and public intoxication, and count flow of guests from one area of the facility to another. Candidates must have a strong work ethic, strong interpersonal and communication skills, understand the importance of professionalism, and be adept at non-violently de-escalating potential conflicts that can come with crowded bar spaces and alcohol consumption. Experience in high volume restaurant, bar, or club atmospheres is preferred. Prior law enforcement and/or military experience is a plus. Shifts are typically from 6hrs to 9hrs long and nights and weekends are required. Part time or fulltime hours are available for qualified candidates. Compensation is commensurate with experience and verifiable work history/references.
Duties included but not limited to this position:
Checking ID’s
Performing capacity counts and controlling queues
Spotting and removing hazards from crowded areas and keeping fire exits clear
Communicating clearly and concisely over our radio channel with other security staff and managers
Communicating with bartenders to prevent underage drinking and public intoxication
Communicating with guests regarding queues, wait times, state and city laws, and Felipe's policies
Bussing tables/engaging with tables and groups to assess any suspicious activity and public intoxication
Light cleaning duties assisting bartenders at end of night
Physical requirements for this job include:
The ability to walk up and down 2 flights of steps regularly
The ability to work on your feet for up to a 10 hour shift with minimal resting and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs
The ability to hear and speak with guests and staff in a loud and crowded environment
