Global Marble & Granite is seeking a technician for laser templating and CAD programming to help manufacture granite and quartz countertops in our state-of-the-art facility in Hyannis, MA.
This position will accurately measure and create templates for residential projects using an LT-2D3D digital laser template machine.
Projects include fireplaces, countertops, bathroom vanities, and custom fabrications; the person must be very well-versed and able to do custom projects.

Professional experience with a focus on precise measurements and high attention to detail. This position involves accurately measuring countertops and areas of stone application to ensure exact and efficient fabrication.
You will be responsible for creating and modifying drawings to efficiently lay out the cutting path on the selected slabs, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have AutoCAD experience and experience with other CAD/CAM software.
This is a full-time, hourly, weekday position. Occasional Saturdays may be required, but the shop is closed on Sundays and most major holidays.
Responsibilities:
Create and modify CAD drawings for natural stone countertops according to client specifications, architectural plans, and shop drawings.
Use software to program Baca Systems robotic saw jet machine to cut and shape stone countertops.
Layout the pieces on selected slabs to ensure maximum yield and minimal waste.
Work collaboratively with designers, installers, and production staff to ensure the accuracy and feasibility of designs.
Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
Review and approve final CAD drawings before fabrication and installation.
Maintain accurate records of design changes and modifications.
Qualifications
Proficiency in AutoCAD, AlphaCam, Moraware, Slabsmith, or similar CAD/CAM software.
Experience in drafting and designing architectural plans or kitchen and bath layouts.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills for employees and customers. (Must speak English, Portuguese a plus)
Knowledge of the granite industry and fabrication techniques is a plus.
Experience programming CNC machines is also a plus.
