Position Overview
We are seeking a hardworking, friendly, and helpful Evening Custodian to maintain a clean, organized facility while supporting events and basic maintenance needs. This role requires the ability to work independently while collaborating with staff and community members to ensure smooth operations.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:30/5:00 PM – Close (approx. 10:00 PM)
Hours: 25-30 per week, with flexibility for additional shifts as needed
Key Responsibilities
Support Worship Services (every Friday), Community Dinners, activities, and Hebrew School throughout the week
Set up and break down rooms for events, following floor plans and schedules for turning-over rooms for the next day.
Perform routine cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing
Interact professionally with staff and community members, providing assistance as needed
Handle minor repairs, floor care (buffing, polishing), and summer turnovers
Set up and troubleshoot A/V equipment
Secure the building during evening lock-up
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of custodial or commercial cleaning experience
Hardworking, friendly, and helpful attitude with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and lift up to 50 pounds
Strong organizational and communication skills
Reliable transportation and ability to pass a CORI background check
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
