Chieftain Constuction & Development is hiring an Excavator Operator. The Operator is generally responsible for running the job and operating heavy equipment.
PRIMARY PURPOSE AND DAILY FUNCTION
Operate heavy equipment on both residential and commercial job sites. Work includes excavation, utility, drainage, and grading work
Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment
Operate pneumatic hammers and tampers as directed
Pickup and delivery of materials needed on construction site
Maintain and clean equipment and work area
Adheres to all health and safety standards and report issues or concerns
Keep materials organized and protected on job sites
Knowledge and experience operating skid steer and different size excavators
Knowledge and experience reading and following plans.
Knowledge and experience calculating grades and using a laser in the field
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Good English skills; both written and verbal
Valid Driver’s License
Valid Hydraulics License
Self-starter that shows initiative and drive to fully complete tasks
Organized and clean
2+ years of experience and knowledge of excavation, site work, utilities
Desire to learn and work collaboratively with others
Takes pride in quality of work performed
