Job Title: Facilities Technician – Cultivation Business

Reports to: Operations Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Facilities Technician to join our cannabis cultivation team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in HVAC systems, building maintenance, and grow lighting systems. This role is critical to ensuring the optimal environmental conditions for our plants and maintaining the overall efficiency of our cultivation facility.

Key Responsibilities:

HVAC System Maintenance:

- Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC systems to ensure consistent climate control within cultivation spaces.

- Diagnose issues with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and implement necessary repairs or adjustments.

- Monitor environmental control systems (temperature, humidity, CO2 levels) to meet cultivation requirements.

Building Maintenance:

- Conduct routine building inspections to ensure facility integrity, including plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.

- Perform minor repairs on electrical, plumbing, and other building infrastructure as needed.

- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance or larger-scale repairs.

- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of all facility areas, including storage, workspaces, and common areas.

Lighting Systems Management:

- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot lighting systems specific to plant growth, including LEDs, HPS, and other cultivation lighting setups.

- Regularly calibrate and inspect timers and lighting schedules to ensure optimal light cycles.

- Work with cultivation staff to make adjustments based on plant growth stages and operational needs.

General Facility Support:

- Assist in equipment maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.

- Collaborate with the cultivation team to understand facility needs and address concerns related to environment and infrastructure.

- Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment required for facility operations.

- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and local regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Facilities Technician, HVAC Technician, or similar role, preferably in a cultivation or industrial environment.

- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair.

- Familiarity with grow lighting systems and ability to diagnose and resolve lighting issues.

- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance.

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

Education & Certifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in HVAC, electrical, or building maintenance preferred.

- OSHA certification or familiarity with workplace safety standards is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).

- Comfortable working in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.

- Able to work in various environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and humid spaces.
