The Pipefitter plays a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of various piping systems. This position reports to the Foreman and is not responsible for the oversight of other teammates. This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position.
The Department of Labor Standards (DLS) issues prevailing wage information for construction projects and other types of public work.
DLS issues prevailing wage schedules to cities, towns, counties, districts, authorities, and state agencies. Workers must receive these hourly wage rates when working on a public project. Prevailing Wage rate schedules vary by region, type of work and other factors.
This role requires a Massachusetts' Pipefitters License
Your Role:
Bolt up and alignment of flanged piping systems
Installation of gaskets
Layout of various piping systems
Bevel and grove ductile iron and steel pipe
Welding of process piping systems
Cutting and fabrication of spool pieces
Sweating/soldering piping (non-potable water)
Threading/cutting pipe
Glue and assemble plastic piping
Cut/fuse and assemble PVDF piping
Beveling, cutting, fitting associated with piping prior to welding
Installation of small diameter tubing for instrumentation and controls
Installation of prefabricated or pre-manufactured pipe supports including anchors for same
Your Education and Experience:
High School or Vocational and or relevant work experience
Minimum of 1-3+ years of experience within the construction industry
MA pipefitter license(s)

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction site
Prepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions
Able to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and ladders
Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance, and stoop, reach on a regular basis
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Travel:
Travel is primarily local, and limited to Northeast jobsite locations, during the business day; with occasional out of state and overnight travel. Less than 20% travel expected.
