Dual Role - Dispatcher and Delivery Driver

Priority Parcels is a third party delivery service partner to Amazon, delivering Amazon packages in the areas surrounding Revere, MA. Our drivers deliver Amazon packages in Vans with a current shift time of 10:45 AM to 8:45 PM. Safety is our number one priority, followed by making customers smile! We are now hiring someone to be a Delivery Van Driver who will drive some days and act as Dispatcher on other work days, overseeing 20 routes. We need a reliable, hard worker who pays attention to details and can quickly problem solve a wide range of situations.

This is a full-time DUAL ROLE Driver and Dispatcher position. You MUST HAVE prior experience working for a DSP

On days where you are acting as a Delivery Driver:

As a Delivery Driver, you’ll drive an Amazon-branded vehicle, delivering hundreds of packages per day. You will be a delivery hero in the neighborhoods you serve - delivering hundreds of smiles to customers every day in the form of critical supplies, household goods, toys and so much more. You can expect to work 10 hour shifts. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, communicate effectively, and are ready to get the job done. Successful delivery drivers enjoy being out on the road driving, put safety first, and care deeply about customer expectations and satisfaction. Responsibilities include:

- Successfully handle and deliver packages on time

- Safely drive and perform safety inspections on Company vehicle

- Follow all local & state laws, road/driving regulations, and Company policies

- Provide excellent customer service and satisfaction despite stressful events / conditions

- Keep pace in physically demanding job; work in all weather conditions and on various routes; lift packages (up to 50 lbs.); get in and out of a van repeatedly throughout the day at variable locations

- Communicate effectively with support team to provide exceptional customer service and ensure deliveries are completed

- Use smart phone device for GPS Navigation, scanning packages, conducting administrative requirements such as clocking in/out, and communicate with supervisors and other team members

- Load and unload packages in delivery vehicle

- Support the team in daily work requirements including participation in rescue calls when other team members need assistance with their routes

On days where you are acting as a Dispatcher:

- Daily prep: prepare key & supply bags for each vehicle. Conduct pre and post inspection of vehicles to assess damage

- Dispatch Operations: Efficiently dispatch drivers for timely package deliveries while considering route optimization and customer delivery commitments. We run approximately 20 routes per day so you will be overseeing dispatch for approximately 20 drivers per day.

- Route Planning: Develop and implement optimized delivery routes using available software and real-time traffic updates to ensure on-time deliveries and minimize fuel consumption.

- Communication: Maintain constant communication with drivers, providing necessary updates, guidance, and support throughout their shifts.

- Problem Solving: Address and resolve issues that may arise during delivery, such as traffic delays, vehicle malfunctions, or other unforeseen circumstances.

- DSP Compliance: Ensure adherence to our guidelines, policies, and standards to maintain a high level of service and customer satisfaction.

- Performance Tracking: Monitor driver performance, track key metrics, and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and service quality. Contact drivers by phone and other methods of communication to coach them in real-time.

- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of delivery schedules, driver logs, and any incidents or issues that occur during operations. Generate regular reports for management review.

- Driving: Fill in for call outs, rescues, etc as needed to ensure all routes are completed each day.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION:

- 10-hour shifts are typical

- Expect approximate shift start time 10:45 AM and end time 8:45 PM, subject to change

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must be at least 21 years old

- Must hold a non-provisional, unrestricted driver’s license

- Must be authorized to work in the United States

- Must pass a 4-Panel Drug Screening

- Must have a clean motor vehicle report (multiple violations can disqualify you from the position)

Previous DSP Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a driver role or dispatcher role at a DSP.

- Fleet Management: Proficiency in utilizing routing and dispatch software for route optimization and coordination with Station Manager.

- Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with drivers and communicate updates clearly.

- Organizational Skills: Capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail.

-Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, adapting to changes and implementing solutions on the go.

- Team Player: Collaborative mindset to work closely with other team members to achieve common goals.

High School Diploma or equivalent; additional logistics or business-related education a plus.

Military veterans are welcome!

Commercial, DOT, CDL (or work-related) driving experience is a plus, but not mandatory
