Employee Wellness Clinician The Massachusetts State Police is seeking a dedicated and motivated Licensed Independent Social Worker (LICSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to serve as an Employee Wellness Clinician on the staff of the Department’s Employee Assistance Unit (EAU). The clinician will: · Attend and lead critical incident debriefings. · Provide clinical office hours. · Provide individual crisis intervention and assessment. · Support the EAU with promoting mental health and wellness. · Collaborate with EAU staff with crisis/risk management plans. · Assist with outreach activities. · Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations, including Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act, (HIPAA) regulations which govern the privacy and confidentiality of information. · Use their expertise to provide high quality training to employee peer counselors and attend EAU meetings. · Meet all requirements as a Mandated Reporter. · Travel to various barracks/units as needed. · Follow Department risk mitigation procedures with respect to reporting any significant event/incident and ensure the completion of all associated required documentation. · Perform other duties assigned by the Employee Assistance Unit. This position is grant funded by the Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness Act. This is an hourly paid contract position. The contracted employment will end upon exhaustion of the grant funds or upon the expiration of the grant term (September of 2026). Both the funding and the term of the grant may be extended. The Department is seeking a minimal commitment of 30 hours per week which includes 10 clinical office hours scheduled between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. There is an opportunity for optional weekend clinical office hours. Hours may exceed 30 depending on the needs of the Unit. The work schedule is negotiable provided it satisfies the requirements of the Employee Assistance Unit. This is a contract position. Weekly hours may vary but cannot exceed 60 hours per week. The pay rate for this position ranges from $50.00 to $60.00 per hour depending on the qualifications. No state benefits are provided for this contract position. Required Qualifications: Ability to exercise sound judgment, make decisions and act quickly in emergency situations. · Ability to maintain confidentiality. · A Master’s level clinical degree or higher. · Licensure as a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LICSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). · Training in crisis risk assessment, critical incident stress management, group and individual crisis intervention. · Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures of governing MA laws relating to individuals experiencing mental health crises, group counseling and debriefing, and peer counseling. · Excellent assessment and intervention skills. · Strong communication skills, time management skills. · Ability to adjust to varying or changing work. · Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class 3 Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Preferred Qualifications: · Two years’ professional experience in crisis intervention. · Knowledge/Experience in trauma-informed responses to mental health crises. · Experience with Law Enforcement agencies and personnel.
