Many of the duties of the Innkeeper/Front Desk position overlap with the General Manager.

The Innkeeper should be able to run the 28-unit Rental Program in the General Manager’s absence.

While the hotel is open, the Innkeeper oversees the operation of the front desk and coordinates housekeeping activities. This position also ensures room quality by checking rooms after they are cleaned before guests check-in.

The Innkeeper needs to be familiar with all the PMS (Room Raccoon) functionality related to hotel operations. This includes booking/changing reservations, payment collection, cancellation, group bookings, and how to correct errors.

Front Desk Operations

The Innkeeper oversees the front desk staff, checking their daily audits for accuracy, and reviews any changes made to make sure there are no mistakes.

The primary duties of the Front Desk Person/Innkeeper Position are to ensure guest satisfaction and overall efficiency of front office operations, to train staff, and to ensure staff is prepared to provide excellence to our guests and visitors at all times.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

Supervision of property front office staff.

Prepares work schedule in collaboration with housekeeping and front desk staff.

Knowledge and experience working with hotel PMS software.

Developing and implementing yield management strategies in the interest of maximizing occupancy of guest rooms which gives the greatest possible revenue, including coordination with the General Manager

Manages front office staff, resolves guests’ issues, and performs tasks that may require your discretion and authority.

Able to make reasonable and professional decisions.

Assist and guide the front office staff through their daily duties and responsibilities.

Use the appropriate phrases and greetings when interacting with guests.

Maintain a positive work environment.

Work closely with the hotel manager and communicate effectively.

Use proper telephone and reservation etiquette including describing the hotel, proper rate quotation, and capturing reservations.

Always maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Participate in social media marketing, content creation, and digital marketing campaigns.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Education/Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Walking the property with a critical eye on what needs to be done to help the property always look manicured and clean.

Mental Requirements:

Ability to convey information and ideas.

Must maintain composure under pressure.

Pay Scale –

Between $19 and 23.00 per hour depending on experience
