Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Marine Mechanic to join our team. The Marine Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining boats and related marine equipment for our customers. This role requires strong technical abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain gasoline and diesel marine engines, outboard motors, inboard/outboard systems, and related components.
Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tune-ups, water pump replacements, and fuel system repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, hydraulic systems, steering systems, and propulsion systems.
Install and service marine accessories such as electronics, controls, batteries, pumps, and lighting.
Conduct sea trials and performance tests to ensure proper operation and customer satisfaction.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and services provided.
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Communicate clearly with customers and staff regarding repair needs, timelines, and recommendations.
Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workshop.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Marine Mechanic or marine technician (certifications preferred but not required).
Strong knowledge of marine engines, systems, and diagnostics.
Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
Familiarity with modern marine electronics and diagnostic tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license; boating experience a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various outdoor conditions.
Comfort working in tight or confined spaces.
Ability to stand, bend, climb, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
