Purpose:
The Director of Family Ministries will create and implement a family ministry focused on connecting families with the programs and opportunities at John Wesley. The director will implement a program that offers a healthy, safe, and fun environment for families to grow in their faith and relationships. The director will recruit, equip and guide a ministry team in providing discipleship, spiritual growth, leadership development, and mission opportunities. The director will work with the church leadership, staff and community organizations to empower families with children and youth
General Requirements
● Recruit, equip and lead adult volunteers to help lead the family ministry programs.
● The Director will have a passion for family ministry and adhere to the policies and practices of JWUMC.
● The Director of Family Ministries will be subject to the Criminal Offense Record Investigation (CORI).

● A strong Christian faith and practice, an ability to reflect theologically, reflecting the ethics, values and standards of Jesus Christ.
● Can easily relate to parents, children and youth
● Ability to actively engage with Falmouth community and beyond
Job Specific Requirements
● Create, implement, and lead a new family ministry at JWUMC
● Develop programs and seek ways to grow the participation and the connections among families and with the JW community, including managing all communication
● Assist children and youth who have become disadvantaged by societal or familial problems and by other reversals of otherwise normal living conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
● A college degree preferred or five years of equivalent experience
● Experience with children, youth and/or family ministries preferred, but not required
● Experience with community relations development
● Demonstrated ability to lead, be a team player, develop and oversee a budget, ability to plan and execute well organized programs and events.
● Strong computer and social media skills.

This is a salaried position, based on 20/25 hours per week. Provides 2 weeks paid vacation per year, sick pay and ten holidays per year
