POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pool Attendant/Qualified Swimmer position serves a variety of tasks that support the safety, operation, and cleanliness of the Captain Gosnold Village Pool.
This is a part-time, seasonal engagement expected to last from July through Labor Day. The work schedule for this position will be 3 or 4 days a week from either 10am to 6pm or 11am to 7pm, depending upon your availability and will be closed during inclement weather.
COMPENSATION:
$17.00 - $19.00/hour, depending on experience and availability.
REQUIREMENTS AND ABILITIES:
Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Exhibit good verbal written communication, and knowledge of basic math.
Dependable, Friendly, attention to detail.
Physically fit, good swimming abilities, and able to remove a person from the pool.
Ability to get CPR certified. (reimbursement up to $75 for this certification once the pool has closed for the season).
Familiarity with life-saving equipment, including rescue procedures and administering first aid.
Qualified Swimmer: Must pass a swim test that includes:
Swim 2 lengths of the pool.
Tread water for 5 minutes.
Retrieve an object from the bottom of the pool.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
Unlocks the pool gate and prepares the pool area for opening, including water testing (training provided) and maintaining a log.
Remains in the pool area while the pool is open.
Enforce safety rules.
Closing procedures including straightening pool furniture, cleaning, emptying trash, and locking the pool gate.
Works collaboratively with the rest of the pool team.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, talk and hear; use their hands to operate a phone; and reach with their hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 40+ pounds.
