RELCO Reilly Electrical Contractors, Inc. is seeking experienced (year 3 or 4) electrical apprentices.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Installing electrical equipment
- Connecting wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility
- Preparing and assembling conduits
- Working overtime when required
- Acquiring required tools within six months of hire
- Assisting in getting materials from stockroom, move stock, load/unload trucks, carry pipe, boxes, clean up the job area, etc.
- Climbing ladders with material or tools, load wire reels (reels can weigh up to 215lbs), lifting lights into ceiling, digging trenches, holding material and using screw guns screw drivers
- Installing various kinds of wires, cable and conduits in accordance with the requirements
- Assisting journeyman in pulling wires, attaching wires to fishtape and keeping wire free from kinks or abrasion
- Connecting conductors to switches, receptacles or appliances with proper methods of splicing, soldering and taping
- Using rotor strippers
- Maintaining a safe work environment by observing and following all safety standards and procedures; complying with OSHA and RELCO standards
- Digging trenches
Skills Requirements:
- Basic electrical and mechanical skills
- Experience in commercial or industrial electrical work
- Knowledge of the electrical code and the ability to research and retrieve information from the code book
- Ability to read, understand, analyze blueprints and schematic drawings
- Ability to follow directions and decipher technical information
- Ability to complete work in a neat, safe, and professional manner
- Knowledge of, and ability in, pipe bending, circuit wiring, feeders, services, fire alarm, wire pulling, underground, wiring electrical equipment
- Ability to plan and project weekly material and labor requirements
Certification Requirements:
- Must be age 18 or older
- OSHA 10 certificate, or willingness to complete through RELCO
- Valid driver's license
- RI and NH apprentices must be enrolled in the state's apprenticeship program
- GED or high school diploma
