Join the leader in Environment Testing.  Eurofins Environment Testing has a fulltime entry level opportunity with benefits.The Laboratory Technician I, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOP’s, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies.Full-time entry level position with Benefits, Monday - Friday.  8:00am-4:30pm.   Brief weekend work will be required approximately one weekend per month on a rotating schedule.Candidates living within a commutable distance of Danvers, MA are encouraged to apply.  Compensation $20-22/hour (depends on experience) This is an entry level position for those interested in starting their career in a laboratory setting.  College degree not needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Sample ReceivingPrepare samples from processingAccepts and signs for deliveries.Assists in unloading shipments from delivery truck.Opens coolers and inspects contents of shipments. Checks documentation to ensure all samples are accounted for.Distributes samples in different departments as appropriate.Follows strict safety and quality control procedures.Stores, restocks, and shelves samples as necessary.Ensures that work area is clean and organized.Enters records in LIMS systemDemonstrates and promotes the company visionRegular attendance and punctualityApplies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriatePerforms routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs. These include:Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis.Preparation of samples using standard techniquesPerforming chemical analysis using standard techniquesCalculating dataRecording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisorPerforming routine instrument maintenanceResponsible for performing job functions in compliance with Eurofins environmental health safety and quality assurance standardsResponsible for general housekeeping in his/her work areaWorks under close supervision using routine and standard methodsAliquots and weighs samplesWashes glasswareLab TechnicianPerforms microbiology analysis by Idexx methods, which may include, but is not limited to:Handling and processing samples following aseptic procedures.Preparing reagents and media.Preparing dilutions.Recording and tracking incubation times.Resolves discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.Prepares general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.Washes laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.Stocks laboratory supplies.Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient mannerPerforms other duties as assignedCleans work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.Assists other laboratory areas as needed.
