Summary: Responsible for covering the main reception desk for a large Child Care/Head Start center in Framingham. This individual is the first contact for families and must be an energetic and helpful person. This role is responsible for answering and directing phone calls, buzzing in and greeting guests that come into the building, having guests sign in, maintaining communication with school bus drivers on the two-way radios to be sure children are accounted for or are confirmed absent. They assist with collection of fees from our program parents. Assists in a variety of administrative duties as needed, such as: checklist, attendances, ordering, filing, etc. Establishes a positive connection with children, families, community members when interacting on the telephone, computer or in person.Why Work for SMOC?

Primary Responsibilities:
Answering and directing phone calls into the Center.

Engaging all clients by understanding and addressing their needs whether within or outside the scope of work.
Attending and participating in team meetings as requested.
Maintaining confidentiality of client, employee and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements.
Ensuring compliance with program/department, agency and/or funder requirements, as well as SMOC policies and procedures.
Other office duties as assigned. Engage all clients by understanding and addressing their needs whether within or outside the scope of work.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Good customer service skills with ability to multi-task and stay organized as required.
Dependable and responsible and uses good judgement.

Office skills (MS Word, excel) as well as basic skills to file, copy, scan, etc.
Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) a plus
Organizational Relationship: Directly reports to the Center Director.Physical Requirements: Must be able to handle the physical aspect of the position. (sitting, walking, lifting up to 30 pounds). Recent physical exam determining good health.Working Conditions: As part of the responsibilities of this position, the Receptionist will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
