IT Senior Systems Administrator

Senior Systems Administrator to support our Company's IT/IS needs.

Position responsibilities include:

Serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems. In large companies, this requires understanding a global or multi-office network infrastructure.

Helps develop, document, communicate, and enforce a network technology policy.

Is responsible for the installation and configuration of new software and hardware, including the server network, devices and firewalls.

Is responsible for monitoring system performance, IT system operations and storage utilization.

Plans ahead for necessary hardware or software upgrades to support system growth.

Manages user accounts and assets, and assigns and updates security permissions on the network according to security policy.

Provides support with escalated help desk requests.

Leads a team of systems administrators, coordinates with different departments.

Mentors team members and educates users.



Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (B. S. or B.A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Plus 3-5 years of hands-on experience with a range of operating system, programs and services.



Advanced knowledge of networking and distributed computing environment concepts, as well as a sound understanding of the principles of routing, firewalls, and client/server applications.

Experience with troubleshooting and issue resolution principles, methodologies and techniques.

Possess a strong desire to learn about new technologies.

Knowledge of applicable laws and data privacy policies.

Able to provide guidance to others when tasks lack fully documented procedure.

Solid team management and problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, strong organization skills, and initiative.



Expertise in the following areas:



Windows Server Administration 2008R2 through 2016

Windows Active Directory Administration

Office 365

Fortinet Firewall Administration

VEEAM and Veritas Backup Exec

Familiarity with Cyber Security

Strong communication, interpersonal, trust and relating skills and ability to teach other employees how to use systems.

Has a winning attitude and instills a passion for winning with other team members, which is demonstrated by a "better together" approach.

Demonstrate problem-solving techniques, use technical resources, analyze alternatives and research issues.

Willingness to learn other job skills and assist other team members, to understand team and business goals. Reassess work based on team goals and team priorities.
