Obtains orders from various electronic health records and enters orders into laboratory information system. This position services a population ranging in age from infancy to geriatric.Job Description:Essential Responsibilities:Follows all procedures and protocols for blood collection.Collects blood using proper safety and infection control procedures.Collects blood from all age groups.Works independently.Schedules time to meet workload needs.Required Qualifications:High School diploma or GED required.0-1 years related work experience required.Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.Preferred Qualifications:Completion of accredited phlebotomy training program and phlebotomy certification preferred.Proficiency in use of computer systems, LIS, Meditech or similar software required.Competencies:Decision Making: Ability to make decisions that are guided by general instructions and practices requiring some interpretation.
