For this position, we're looking for someone with a strong desire and ability to envision solutions in new and creative ways that will help define the vision of the Grocery Store of the Future. As a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for having a firm understanding of modern and innovation technology. You will have the ability to lead efforts in modern ways of working for the new Point of Sale System through design and implementation.

Job Description:

• Takes the lead on microservices implementation and design, API integration and is involved in the implementation and support of the Emerald POS application.
• Interfaces with multiple vendors and in some cases teams of software engineers and system analysts.
• Technical development sequencing of projects using agile and waterfall frameworks based on financial and strategic justifications in close cooperation with business and IT stakeholders.
• Identification of direct and indirect dependencies.
• Communication of a multi-layered technical sequencing and plans.
• Coordinates with technical leads, developers, architects, solutions engineers, project managers, vendors and Business Relationship Managers to develop and design technical solutions that meet business objectives.
• Responsible for cost consequence within portfolio as driven by technical design. Study, analyze, and define the impact of business needs on the system components and solution architecture and its interfaces to provide maximum benefits from each system and drive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), while limiting/eliminating technical debt.

Basic Qualifications:

• 7+ years experience working in a software engineering role
• 3+ years progressive responsibility in technical engineering/solution architecture
• Experience working with microservices architecture design pattern
• Practical experience with Docker Containerization and clustering (Kubernetes)
• Experience with queue-based messaging systems like Kafka, Pub/Sub, Service bus
• Knowledge of container orchestration, cloud solutions and services in hybrid cloud environments
• Proficiency with at least one modern object-oriented programming language
• Experience integrating with APIs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Retail Technology experience preferred
• Point of sale experience preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, is a plus
• Experience with Linux is a plus

• Knowledge of networking including network interface configuration, protocols, SSL/TLS certificates, web servers (Apache, Nginx)
• Experience in implementing CI/CD
• Experience with Agile methodology and software development
• Experience with source code repositories such as Confluence or GitHub
