A client of ours has an immediate need for a lead Shipper/Receiver. Monday thru Friday; 7:00am - 3:00pm
Pay Rate $18.50 per hour
Responsibilities:
Perform all activities in Shipping/Receiving department under direction of Assistant Shipping/Receiving Supervisor
Use judgement to plan, perform and make decisions
Assure proper identification and/or weight of all material received and shipped
Acknowledge and sign for incoming material via truck and/or railroad cards
Unload trucks, check material and notify Assistant Shipping/Receiving Supervisor of any damages or obvious defects
Check and/or prepare documents, package material, assure proper labeling of containers and arrange for outside carrier when required. Load trucks using forklift and other material handling equipment
Report unusual conditions or circumstances to Assistant Shipping/Receiving Supervisor
Maintain equipment and work area in clean and orderly condition
Perform assignments in conformance with health and safety requirements
Perform other related duties as required or directed
Requirements:
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent one (1) year experience as a Shipper/Receiver
Excellent understanding of shipping techniques
Must have a valid Drivers License
Must be able to lift 70 lbs.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required
Effective communication with all levels of personnel both in writing and verbally
