Accounting Manager - Hospitality

Description Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to provide full financial support for our Sturbridge location. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Controller to manage key accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), payroll, cash flow management, benefit administration, and general financial oversight. The Accounting Manager will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with internal controls, and timely execution of financial processes within a fast-paced hospitality environment.Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR): Oversee daily AP and AR activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor payments, customer invoicing, and collections.

Payroll: Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Work closely with HR on employee status changes, benefit elections, and deductions.

Benefit Administration: Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks, ensuring proper deductions are made.

Cash Flow Management: Support in the daily monitoring of cash flow, ensuring adequate funds are available for operational needs and assisting with monthly cash forecasting.

General Financial Support: Assist the Controller with financial reporting, month-end closing procedures, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.

Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and accounting procedures. Assist with preparation for audits, ensuring documentation is thorough and accurate.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Operations and HR, to ensure smooth financial operations and alignment with organizational goals.

Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance the efficiency of accounting functions.

Preferred Attributes:

Experience in the hospitality industry, especially with property management systems (PMS) and hotel accounting.

Familiarity with labor laws and payroll processing in a hospitality setting.

Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards within the hospitality industry.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in a hospitality or related industry (hotel, restaurant, resort, etc.).

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting software (preferably hospitality-specific systems), Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.

Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.

Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.

Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve issues independently and proactively identify potential challenges.
