Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Billing Clerk in Taunton, Massachusetts, United States. As a Billing Clerk, you will be responsible for the accuracy and efficiency of medical billing processes, maintaining strong relationships with insurance representatives, providing guidance to program directors and clinicians, and monitoring account activities. Responsibilities: Ensure the accuracy and promptness of charge entries for designated programs. Maintain up-to-date and accurate patient insurance and demographic records. Establish and maintain strong relationships with insurance representatives to streamline communication and resolve issues. Provide necessary guidance to program directors and clinicians about billing processes and performance specifications. Monitor and report any problematic activities and high balance accounts to the Billing Manager. Regularly review aging reports to ensure claims are processed within the payer's timely filing limit. Maintain a thorough understanding of all HCPC codes relevant to assigned programs. Independently research and stay informed about payer specifications and requirements. Requirements Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a billing clerk or similar role. Proficiency in using medical billing software. Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Strong knowledge of billing procedures. Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is a plus. Willingness to participate in continuous learning and training opportunities. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. Commitment to ethical and detail-oriented standards. Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime if necessary.
