No Fault Claims Examiner

Our No-Fault / PIP / PD Claims Adjuster handles Personal Injury Protection (PIP), Med Pay, First and Third-Party Auto Physical Damage (PD) claims arising out of personal and commercial insurance policies. In this role, you’ll see through their life-cycle, including but not limited to, investigation of coverage, determination of medical causation, coordination of benefits, liability and damage assessment. The purpose of this position is to provide service to agents, policyholders, third-party claimants and others to ensure claims resolve accurately, timely and in accordance with guidelines, regulations and other legal requirements.Responsibilities

Take loss reports directly from agents, insureds and/or claimants or their representatives

Initiate initial claims handling

Handle claims in compliance with applicable state regulations and statutes.

Investigate assigned claims, verify coverage, and verify damages

Coordinate PIP and Med Pay coverage with other benefits

Recommend and maintain appropriate claim file reserves

Actively participate in the litigation process

Evaluate, negotiate, and settle claims

Maintain confidentiality associated with proprietary, medical and other personal identifying information (PPI)

Other related duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Minimum of 2 years of experience adjusting third-party liability claims

Experience handling litigated and/or multi-party claims involving risk transfer

Ability to analyze coverage and prepare coverage position letters

Possess or has ability to timely secure and maintain required multiline adjuster licenses. Commercial lines experience is preferred

Excellent understanding and skill level of claim handling and customer service

Understanding of policy contracts, insurance laws, regulation, and of the legal environment

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and organizational skills
