Position Summary: Under the direction of the manager, enters information, i.e., encounter form charges, cash payments-both patient and insurance payments- as well as insurance rejections to the Accounts Receivable system. Inputs cash payments, i.e., responsible party commercial insurance, co-payments, Medicaid, Medicare, Blue Shield, Out of State Blue Shield, Medex, and lock box payments. Location: West Center Street, West Bridgewater, MA Department: Revenue Cycle This is a full-time 40 hour/ week position Responsibilities:
Researches all insurance payments not accompanied by an E.O.B, to ensure proper payment.
Researches unidentified receipts.
Logs batches for control purposes. Balances all transactions applied to system and records and collates batches for storage.
Enters all types of back room encounter form charge data to the AR system.
Performs online cashiering functions including automated cash application and as well as manual cash receipts.
Maintains back up copier of encounter forms by doctor and date.
On a monthly basis runs and screens the missing charges.
Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Technical/Other:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience : S trong typing skills and previous experience with medical billing for third party payment desired Network Information Exchange Access Level: 0
