Job Description
As a Boxco Studio draftsperson and estimator, you will be responsible for assisting the project management and sales team in estimating new jobs, creating and updating kitchen models and drawing sets, and overseeing updates to Boxco’s Cabinet Vision software. We do all of our designing, estimating and drawing production in Cabinet Vision, which is the industry standard for cabinet design and production. Understanding and being able to effectively utilize this software will be tantamount to the execution of this job. Boxco will provide comprehensive training on this specific software, but ideal candidates will have prior experience in other CAD or 3D modeling software, experience and aptitude for coding, and a strong attention to detail. You will be reporting directly to Boxco’s Project Manager, and will be working closely with Boxco’s Director of Operations and Boxco’s Marketing and Sales Manager. Your role/tasks will include the following:
- Create estimates for prospective clients using Cabinet Vision to design cabinetry, create initial quotes, and create drawing sets
- Create preliminary kitchen designs based on client’s drawings and sketches using Boxco’s cabinetry standards
- Update kitchen designs and create new drawing sets for clients during our customization process
- Work with the Director of Operations to generate final drawings for client approval
- Generate reports from Cabinet Vision to assist in production and ordering
- Maintain up to date knowledge of company software: Cabinet Vision, Airtable, Google Business Suite
- Create systems and processes in Cabinet Vision in order to increase efficiency in estimating and customization processes
- Use Airtable to manage client information and track project progress
- Be able to read and understand architectural drawings, from bid sets to rough sketches in order to accurately interpret client’s wishes
- Be able to visualize finished products and spaces in order to foresee complications in fabrication, installation and overall function, and make corrections before product production begins
- Attend Cabinet Vision training workshops and seminars
- Track your own time using Workforce
- Other duties may be required as assigned by managers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Experience with Cabinet Vision software (preferred), or other CAD software
- Experience in computer coding
- Critical thinking/problem solving skills
- Experience or interest in architecture or interior design
Compensation, Hours, Performance Review
Compensation: $26-29/hr, pay commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule: The majority of Boxco’s team works a 4 day work week. Your schedule will be 32 hrs/week, Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with a 30 minute lunch break (8 hours/day).
