We are a traditional Summer Camp looking for someone to play a vital role in crafting nutritious meals for our campers and staff. Working under the guidance of the Food Service Director, you'll be an integral part of our culinary team, dedicated to providing an exceptional dining experience throughout the summer season
Key Responsibilities:
-Collaborate with the Food Service Director and culinary team to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner, meeting the camp’s nutritional guidelines and satisfying diverse palates.
- Assist in Managing kitchen inventory, and storing food supplies, to ensure freshness and quality.
-Uphold the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness and food safety, in line with health and safety regulations.
-Work closely with the food service team to efficiently manage meal service and accommodate special dietary needs.
-Engage in camp events, contributing to outdoor cooking sessions and themed dining experiences.
-Mentor and oversee kitchen assistants and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
-Demonstrated cooking experience, preferably in a camp, educational, or similar setting.
-Culinary qualifications or relevant training highly regarded.
-Proficient in various cooking techniques and familiar with a wide range of ingredients and kitchen equipment.
-Knowledgeable about nutrition and capable of catering to specific dietary needs, particularly for children.
-Organized, with excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
-A team player with a strong sense of community and cooperation.
-Committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
