CremeBru.LA is a small business specializing in dairy-based and vegan creme brulee, with loyal customers all over New England but primarily here in the Pioneer Valley. We sell at markets, festivals and events all over New England and were selected last year for Sam Adams’s “Building the American Dream” Entrepreneurial Bootcamp (we also won Boston Local Food Festival’s Honorable Mention for best prepared food) and were featured on MassLive and in multiple MassAppeal segments.
We’re in our fifth year and as typically happens, we will need to hire additional workers for vending at events and markets (as the season picks up we will also need additional help in our kitchen, please let us know if this interests you. We will train but relevant cooking experience and a ServSafe Food Protection Manager certificate are big pluses).
Our current vending schedule is mostly weekends: We are just beginning to book out the season but already committed to just about every Saturday from March 28 through the end of October (and beyond), a number of Fridays and Sundays, plus multiple full weeks for major events like Brimfield and the Big E. We are regularly adding additional Fridays, Sundays and more.
Our ideal candidates are outgoing, happy salespeople who love what we make and are committed to great customer service and being a good representative for our brand.
A typical 7 to 10-hour workday (depending on the event) will include:
· Early morning pickup of product and equipment (our equipment is usually transported in our vehicle, so a pristine driving record is a must) and transporting it, usually within two hours of Amherst
· Setting up a tent (or other booth) with tables and other equipment in an aesthetically pleasing way.
· Opening, torching and selling (using Square) our signature product.
· Keeping a clean workspace in compliance with local health codes.
· Working collaboratively but independently (frequent updates/communication are a must).
· Regularly breaking down the booth, repacking both equipment and product, restocking product and returning the vehicle.
Requirements
· Reliable team player who can both take direction and work independently - but is also comfortable working with others. This role requires independent work and self-motivation; once trained, you'll be at the booth solo unless the event requires two people
· Clean driving record and six years of driving history, plus your own vehicle to get to South Amherst
· Excellent communicator willing to work closely with the team and management to keep things running smoothly
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more
· No recreational drugs or alcohol while working
· No criminal background
