Nourse Farms, Inc. is a small fruit nursery focused on the production of high quality strawberry and raspberry planting stock through the use of micro-propagation. Nourse Farms has approximately 3 acres of greenhouse space used primarily for the acclimation of micro-propagated plants and maintenance of mother plants. Our main location is in the town of Whately but this position will report primarily to our Northfield greenhouse facilities.
We are seeking temporary workers to unload potted plant stock transported from our greenhouse facilities in Whately to our new facilities in Northfield for a 2 week period. There may be a FT opportunity for the right candidate. This position requires a hard working team player and reports to the Greenhouse Manager primarily and Greenhouse Growers secondarily. This is a very physical, primarily outdoors entry level hands-on, position with some weekend time required to assist in accomplishing tasks. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
Must have the physical ability to carry out the job, wearing personal protection equipment including a respirator, manage hoses, move plants, able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in all weather.
Duties may include:
Unloading transport trucks;
Moving and spacing plants;
Taking cuttings from plants and trimming as directed;
Filling pots;
Packing plants;
Available to assist in other greenhouse activities as assigned by greenhouse manager - teamwork is very important.
