JOB TITLE: CNC Machine Operator
COMPENSATION: $18-$24 per hour based on experience
DEPARTMENT: Machine Shop
REPORTS TO: Machine Shop Supervisor
SUMMARY: Responsible for loading raw materials and running parts. Ensure specific directions are followed in order to create an end product that meets the required specifications while adhering to quality standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Utilizes various types of manual, numerically controlled, and computerized machine shop equipment to perform machining operations on all types of materials including but not limited to ferrous and nonferrous metals, nonmetallic materials, and synthetic materials.
Supervise machines as they run and make adjustments as needed.
Uses a wide variety of precision measuring instruments; maintains accurate dimensional tolerances based upon blue prints.
Operates a variety of machines including but not limited to lathes, screw machines, mills, and precision grinders to perform multiple machining operations and ensure the proper utilization of equipment and material.
Use of hand tools, and/or the setup and operation of various machine tools.
Checks each component for accuracy.
Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of industry, machinery, and techniques.
Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of all applicable safety regulations and considerations.
Completes all necessary maintenance and cleaning of equipment and workspace as directed.
Passivate components per SOP
Provides all required reports and/or correspondence.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of proper use of measuring tools/gauges and cutting tools.
Understanding of blueprints
Excellent communication and basic math skills.
