Job Title: Injection Molding Machine Operator
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Setup and Operation:
Set up and prepare injection molding machines by adjusting settings and ensuring proper materials (plastic pellets or resin) are loaded.
Ensure molds are installed correctly and safely.
Calibrate machines and ensure they operate according to specifications and standards.
Monitoring and Adjusting the Process:
Monitor the injection molding process to ensure parts are being produced to specification.
Inspect machine cycles, identify defects, and adjust the parameters (such as temperature, pressure, and injection speed) to improve the quality of the molded parts.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the machine or molding process.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.
Perform measurements of the parts using tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Keep records of quality checks and machine performance.
Maintenance and Cleaning:
Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning machines and replacing worn or damaged parts.
Ensure the machine is properly lubricated and well-maintained to minimize downtime.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Adhere to company procedures and industry regulations related to injection molding operations.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with supervisors, quality control teams, and maintenance personnel.
Report any equipment malfunctions, production issues, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge of injection molding processes and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail to ensure quality products.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials if necessary.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
Experience with machine maintenance is a plus.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
On-the-job training or experience in injection molding or machine operation preferred.
Working Conditions:
May involve working in a factory or industrial setting with exposure to machinery noise and heat.
Requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection.
