Immediate Opening for Metalworking Craftsperson
Metalworking craftsperson desired for fast-paced production environment to cut, measure, drill, grind, sand and polish museum-quality aluminum picture frames in sizes from 12" to 12'. Dependability, attention to detail, the ability to use powered hand tools safely, the ability to work well in a team environment, and the ability to think and reason are all necessary. Experience with metalworking, welding, powder coating, and an artistic sensibility are desirable.
Requirements:
⢠Must be able to use a tape measure to a 1/32. No exceptions!
⢠Must be able to read and comprehend shop drawings and written instructions
⢠Must ensure that quality standards are continually and consistently met
⢠Math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing are required
⢠Visual ability to see close up, see color, and adjust focus is key!
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work hours are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday, with overtime sometimes available. The work can be physically demanding so a pre-employment physical will be required.
This is a temp-to-hire position with probation being anywhere from 1-3 months while we get to know each other.
