We are seeking a Part-Time Fair Housing Counselor to provide counseling and training on fair housing issues throughout Western Massachusetts.
Way Finders is seeking a Fair Housing Counselor to work part-time for a fair housing education and outreach program in Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin and Berkshire Counties. The Housing Counselor will be responsible for:
outreach to a wide range of individuals and organizations
provision of counseling and training on fair housing and housing-related issues for tenants, landlords, homeowners and service providers
present fair housing workshops and training for private, community, nonprofit, and governmental groups
assist in the preparation of and distribution of fair housing resource materials
serve as a liaison between designated entities and Way Finders' fair housing program
collection and evaluation of data on program performance
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, community outreach experience and a strong sense of self-organization and motivation. Experience in housing, property management, and tenant/landlord relations a plus. Knowledge of fair housing issues is helpful, but will train the right candidate.
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 3 years' experience in housing or a related field required. Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred. This is a part-time, 24 hour per week position, with flexible working hours. Wage between $15.73-$18.86/hour depending on qualifications plus pro-rated benefits.
