Support Youth & Families @ Greenfield Housing - More than a job!

Want to learn new things and connect with people? Wondering if a role in youth work or housing communities is right for you? Here's your chance to give it a try, connect, learn, and contribute in a community of peers.

Come serve with the DIAL/SELF AmeriCorps Program at the Greenfield Housing Authority! Candidates will support youth and families in residential housing complexes in Greenfield. They will connect individually and in small groups. Candidates are invited to bring their passions to the role: cooking, creative arts, the environment, gaming, learning by doing, your passions and strengths can be used to make a difference in this role.

Apply now for an interview! The program runs from now until June 24th, 2025.

A little more about the program: Joining DIAL/SELF AmeriCorps is not like a typical job. It's a learning experience, a chance to try on new things, connect with peers, and grow in community. We often have members graduate at the end of ten months saying that they learned more in the program than they did in a year of college. They grew in ways that set them up for the next phase of their life.

So come along! Build new relationships and grow toward your future. Be the mentor you needed!

Here are a few logistical bits:

+Members serve full time for eight months during the academic school year October-June.

+They serve Monday-Thursday at a site like the Greenfield Housing Authority.

+On Fridays, they participate in weekly workshops and team service activities with their peers.

+During the eight months, they earn a living stipend of 1,700/month and an education award of $5,176.

+They gain skills and clarify their goals. They build friendships and relationships that lead to future opportunities.

+Most members are eligible for benefits like food support and fuel assistance if they are not already using them.

+Member living stipends do not impact DTA benefits like typical income might.

+The DSAP staff and peer cohort offer a support network to make service as manageable and rewarding as possible.
