I am looking for a welder that could help me patch a rust hole on my 1989 Dodge B250 Camper Van.
After contacting a few body repair shops, they like to take parts from another same car to patch rust holes, problem is the van is old and finding parts is hard (also they don't fix rust in the winter apparently). I need an experienced welder to create a custom piece and weld it over that hole after getting rid of all apparent rust in that area before it gets worse.
The van looks a bit bad I know but I put a lot of love into the engine and the inside over the years and I am planning a paint job next year. But first, I need to take care of the rust, starting with that hole you see in the pictures (banana for scale).
If you think you can help, please contact me and tell me a bit about yourself and your experience with welding, I will be especially interested if you have done a similar job before. Please explain how you would be planning to get the job done (which steps), how long you think it might take and how much you would charge.
Ideally you have a workshop that could fit the van (it's 9 feet tall, 18 feet long) but I would accept if you have to do the job in my driveway if there are no other options.
I love this van so I will only accept serious inquiries from professionals. If I love the result, there will be more jobs in the future before the final paint job.
Thank you. Fabian.
