We are a relatively small sized family-owned Commercial Construction company that has been in business for over 40 years. About 30 years ago, we grew to the point that we were able to start employing a fill-time driver to make deliveries to the jobs. Unfortunately, our long-time delivery person recently had a heart transplant and can no longer handle the rigors of a fulltime job that requires some physical labor. We have been searching for the right person to fill his big shoes. Recently we have hired a part time Manager to organize and assist in tracking the materials and tools that come and go from our shop inventory who this position will report to. That shop Manager is an extremely competent person who is a pleasure to work with so whoever accepts the Delivery position will be in good hands.
We are looking for an individual who is looking for approx. 40 hours a week (potential for overtime as necessary) to perform the following tasks:
- Know and maintain relationships with building material supply houses in our area to know local costs and availability of materials we use frequently
- Communicate directly with the Superintendents and Foreman in the field regarding material and tool needs
and perform daily deliveries to the job sites as necessary
- Track and stay on top of incoming and outgoing tools and materials and keep records of them.
- Clean, maintain and sometimes repair tools that may be damaged.
- Organize the shop and keep it running efficiently and safely.
- Interface with material suppliers for monthly inventory needs
- Onload/offload tools and material from delivery trucks
- Display strong driving skills
This person MUST have:
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong working knowledge of construction or the construction industry.
- A valid drivers license
- Good driving history
- A personal vehicle or means of getting to and from our place of business every day
- General Sobriety
- Good hygiene
- Collaborative mindset and friendly attitude.

The superintendents and foremen in the field are all on high-stress projects and having a driver that is not overly reactive to normal day-to-day stressors is a must.
